Just a Few Projects

Ok , this is an unusual blog post....a non-grandchild post...well, sort of. It has been far too long since I updated this blog and I thought I would shake things up a bit by adding some pictures of a few sewing projects that I have been working on for the last few months.

I made the kids a cute little flag shirt for the 4th of July. I found the tutorial online...it was easy...you can find it at http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2012/07/last-minute-4th-of-july-ideas.html



Amy and I found out about an organization called Quilts for Kids in which volunteers make kid sized quilts for sick kids in hospitals. It's a way of giving a bit of comfort to a sick child. We ordered a kit, they sent us the fabric already cut, we sewed up the quilt top, I finished it off and sent it in. It was a fun and easy project...of course, I forgot to take a picture of the finished quilt, but you can get the idea from the picture. Check out their web site at www.quiltsforkids.org.



I also made a floor pillow for Kelley Patrick's room. I found this tutorial at

Then Ginger got a pillow of her own


I made these embroidered mat covers for the kiddos for school...hit a few bumps with this project..but all worked out fine


I embroidered the names on these towels for Amy's family Labor Day trip to the beach



And last but not least, I made Evie a new LSU jumper for football season. This is a reversible A-line jumper with tiger buttons....came out cute if I do say so myself.


Well, I guess you know the reason my blog posts are slow in coming..I'll try to do better...
