There is a 1960's folk song titled "Where have all the flowers gone." The song is basically about the Vietnam war and is very depressing...which is not where I am going with this post!! But, I did make a shocking discovery yesterday when I looked out my front window and saw my beautiful bed of yellow and burgundy pansies picked clean of blooms! Yes, my beautiful pansies with their perky little heads and happy burgundy faces...gone, gone, gone...all eaten by deer. Those of you who know me well, especially my Georgia friends, know that I am serious about my flowers. I am quite disturbed by this turn of events and don't know what to do about it. Does anyone out there have a suggestion (and I don't mean a deer rifle with a scope)? I am hoping the flowers will bloom again but if they do the deer will be back for their second course.
